SUMMARY:Film Screening HEB Presents: Our Texas Our Future
DESCRIPTION:The Greater Edwards Aquifer Alliance is inviting you to gather with us for a very special screening of the new HEB Presents: Our Texas, Our Future Film series, a five-part original documentary celebrating Texas’ beautiful State Parks, resilient wildlife, and the Texans helping conserve and protect them.\nTHURSDAY, OCT. 26, 2023\nAlamo Colleges District Office located at\n2222 N. ALAMO, SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS 78215\n6:15PM – 7:00PM Meet our nonprofit partners and enjoy refreshments\n(light snacks provided and beer/wine will be available for donation)\n7:00PM – 8:15PM Film Screening\nTICKETS ARE AVAILABLE FOR $5 EACH\n(Tickets may also be purchased at the door)\nCome celebrate “Bat Week” – an international celebration of the role bats play in nature – with a segment of the film, “Batsies” that focuses on saving Texas’s bat population. \nThe film also features a segment titled “A Century Celebration: Texas State Parks”.  With just six acres in 1923 and now growing to 1.5 million acres in 2023, we have much to celebrate.  However, the current supply of state parks can’t keep up with demand of our growing population. Here’s the good news, there’s something you can do!  We have an opportunity to vote on November 7th to support a Constitutional Amendment to create even MORE state parks for future generations. If passed, the Centennial Parks Conservation Fund will provide $1 BILLION dollars to help secure new parks for future generations to explore and enjoy without increasing taxes!   Help us spread the word to VOTE YES ON PROPOSITION 14 TO GROW TEXAS PARKS.  Early voting begins on October 23rd.\nWe are extremely grateful for the following partners who are joining us on the night of the screening.  Come out and visit with this group of hard working organizations committed to the vibrancy and wellbeing of our unique community that we are so proud to call home!\nAlamo Group of the Sierra Club ( https://www.sierraclub.org/texas/alamo )\nBat Conservation International-Bracken Cave Preserve ( https://www.batcon.org/our-work/inspire-through-experience/bracken-cave-preserve/ )\nBexar Audubon Society ( https://bexaraudubon.org/ )\nGreater Edwards Aquifer Alliance ( http://www.aquiferalliance.org )\nNative Plant Society of Texas-San Antonio Chapter ( https://npsot.org/chapters/san-antonio/ )\nAlamo Colleges ( https://www.alamo.edu/ )\nProceeds benefit the Greater Edwards Aquifer Alliance, Bexar Audubon Society, Native Plant Society of Texas-San Antonio Chapter, Bat Conservation International, Sierra Club Lone Star Chapter- Alamo Group\nTHANKS TO H-E-B FOR THEIR SUPPORT\nAND TO ALAMO COLLEGES FOR HOSTING THIS EVENT!\n\n\nThanks to our partners:\n                                     \n
