On The Record with Randy Beamer | August 16, 2024 As we celebrate National Water Quality Month this August, we are asking GEAA members and friends to please TAKE THE PLEDGE to protect what is under our feet!!! Have little ones? They can do their part too by adopting a salamander!
GEAA was thrilled to have the opportunity for our Policy Director Rachel Hanes, to sit with KLRN’s On the Record host Randy Beamer, to talk about an exciting new campaign we have just released called “Under Our Feet”.
The campaign is all about raising awareness of what is under our feet here in San Antonio, Bexar County, and the Hill Country and reminding us that we are all connected to the Edwards Aquifer. Whether we live over the contributing zone that trickles down into the recharge zone, or in the artesian zone, all our lives are touched and connected by our aquifer.
We are fortunate that the Edwards Aquifer provides some of the highest quality water you can get BUT as a karst aquifer made of a porous limestone, it is extremely susceptible to pollution.
We invite you to TAKE THE PLEDGE and follow some simple steps that have an enormous impact on the quality of our drinking water.

Thank you for doing your part!
