GEAA’s policy director, Rachel Hanes discussed the release of our new 2025 Legislative Agenda in this News4SA video here. She stated “Last year was a really good year. We had the creation of the Texas Water Fund and voters across the state overwhelmingly approved that.” As explained in the video here, Rachel emphasized that the main threat to the Edwards Aquifer isn’t just the drought, but how quickly the population is growing. “Growth is expanding so quickly. And, of course, for every person who moves in, they’re not bringing their own water supply and are contributing to water quality issues.”
