GEAA is one of three organizations involved. Attorneys for these three organizations have asked for hearings. GEAA is joined by Fitzhugh Neighbors, a group of residents near the proposed venue, and by Save Our Springs Alliance, an Austin-based conservation organization.
All three groups have individual members who meet the criteria for a hearing, including property owners within 1 mile of the proposed venue. A hearing has been requested to address whether the permit will protect surface water quality, groundwater, and wildlife. Consideration of the potential impacts of stormwater runoff and compliance with state requirements, and whether the limits and monitoring rules in the draft permit are sufficient has also been requested.
