Grassroots Gathering of Water Advocates & GEAA Member Group Meeting

The goal of this annual Grassroots Gathering and GEAA Member Meeting is to convene grassroots water advocates and groups from across
the Texas Hill Country for a day of learning, strategizing, and networking.

 

NOTE: (Optional) Tour of ACCD LID Features and Historic Acequia Madre that was orginally scheduled for 10am has been cancelled.

11:00 – 11:30: Lunch provided for all guests thanks to H-E-B!

11:30 – 12:00: Welcome, Introductions, & Drought Updates
Welcome everyone to the space and do a quick round of introductions. Review agenda and goals for the day. Give a quick update on the drought and flood.

12: 00 – 1:00: Legislative Recap & Discussion
Learn about the major bills impacting water from the 2025 legislative session. Discuss a response to a new legal context, and reflect on opportunities for the next session.

Brief reports on what each GEAA member group is working on and opportunity to strategize with other groups. Grassroots and GEAA Member attendees who wish to share a problem they are facing in their community and solicit advice, or present a new opportunity or resource for other members, are invited to share during this time.
