Dear GEAA members and friends, The Greater Edwards Aquifer Alliance invites you to join state, local and county elected officials from San Antonio and surrounding communities to recount your experiences with Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ), and to share their suggestions for improving this agency, in light of TCEQ’s upcoming Sunset Review. Due to circumstances beyond our control, we are postponing the TCEQ Sunset Review Town Hall Meeting that was scheduled to take place on Thursday, September 23rd. We hope to reschedule this meeting for sometime later this fall. In the meantime, GEAA staff and others are working to assemble a list of recommendations for TCEQ reforms concerning water issues. We all owe a large debt of gratitude to Hill Country Planning Association members Charlotte Kahl, Bebe Fenstermaker, Mary Fenstermaker, Susan Beavin, Kathy Murray, Kathy Smith, Mary Bradshaw, Bill Ward, Irene Scharf, Neal Hernandez and others who held their own with developers and their lackeys for months so that the plan for northern San Antonio will not be unmitigated low quality sprawl that threatens to compromise the Edwards Aquifer.
