A two-year study by Southwest Research Institute found that “installing additional wastewater systems in the region, regardless of type, would … significantly degrade the watershed and the quality of water recharging the Edwards Aquifer,” Ronald Green, who led the study team, said. Water nonprofit report explores solutions to water crisis, housing affordability

The march hosted by Scenic Loop Helotes Creek Alliance was meant to demonstrate the million gallons per day of sewage effluent that will flow into Helotes Creek if the Guajolote waste water permit is approved. GEAA has no problem with most of Lennar’s developments slated for the San Antonio area. We only ask that Lennar leadership respect the discrepancies in what constitutes good sites for their projects and refrain from proceeding with projects that will negatively impact our Edwards and Trinity groundwater.
