On Saturday, February 1st the Scenic Loop Helotes Creek Alliance is holding a meeting and Million Gallon march to demonstrate opposition to Lennar’s Guajolote development in Grey Forest. The march is meant to demonstrate the million gallons per day of sewage effluent that will flow into Helotes Creek if the Guajolote waste water permit is approved. Bring your gallon jug and join in the fun. GEAA has no problem with most of Lennar’s developments slated for the San Antonio area. We only ask that Lennar leadership respect the discrepancies in what constitutes good sites for their projects and refrain from proceeding with projects that

Feds grant $1.9M in funding toward land protections for properties near Camp Bullis

Join the effort to ensure a billionaire’s private resort does not drain water from our public parks. We are urging everyone to learn about the plans for the luxury resort and exclusive subdivision-Mirasol Springs that promises “green” ecological features, however, the project includes a permit to pump up to 96,000 gallons per day out of the Pedernales River. During periods of peak pumping, the river’s level could drop by as much as four feet, reducing the swimming beaches at local parks to puddles between gravel bars.
